So someone FINALLY asked me where the hell "Sword-Singer" comes from and what if anything is it? I'll tell you, and that picture of a Sporeling has nothing to do with it. (Is it obvious I'm secretly starting to miss WoW?) On to this Sword-Singer business. There's an indie game company called "Amaranth Games". They make low budget cutesy simulation games and adventure/RPG games featuring art by amateur anime/chibi/fantasy artists. I have a lot of respect for what they do because I think they give writers and artists a chance to shine when otherwise their work might go unnoticed. One of the games they've featured for years now is Aveyond. It's got prequels, sequels, and more still to come. It's basically a 2d adventure/RPG like old FF or Dragon Warrior. Turn based combat as opposed to the type Zelda: A Link to the Past or Secret of Evermore had.
In Aveyond 2, the game's premise is centered around a couple of Elves and the eventuality of a prophecy's fulfillment and one Elf becoming a "Sword-Singer". It wasn't enough that this game series and all of it's plots and detail are fuggin amazing, but they are all written by a girl! So I adopted the Sword-Singer title for my site here as well as the Song-Sphere blog title, which is an item you can obtain in Aveyond 2. You can find all of the Aveyond games here or at Big Fish games.
